 Our daughter Hayley is home and in the midst of a new painting. I can't describe how thankful we are to have her close and taking time to balance life with creating her art. The painting is near completion and perhaps she will allow me to share it here when it is done. For now, the palette hints to the vibrance of what is to come...

 Summer 2018 is going to be a busy one. Anticipation for home, studio and garden expansion as well as a greenhouse project that has been in the works for years... Our family has been collecting windows, salvaged wood and doors of all shapes and sizes. Finally we have enough materials to make this dream come to life. The designs have been created and drawn with the collaborative input of the entire family. Pre-painting seems to be never ending but we are seeing progress.  Halfway through the week of April vacation and my Mother, my daughter and I have completed the arduous task of acorn clean up. Due to the unusual winter like conditions we chose to hold off on raking out the flower beds and tackle the acorns instead. With temperatures hardly breaking 45 degrees and patches of snow still in the shady areas, we are choosing to let the perennials have a few more weeks of protection. Still, the clock is ticking for it to start feeling like Spring and the construction crews are due to break ground May 1st. At least for now, we don't have to worry about them running over the millions of acorns...
